MacWorld - iWorld EventJanuary 26, 2012
This Thursday we embark on our journey to San Francisco for the MacWorld iWorld event.
This year a new and exciting feature is being added called the Midway.
The Midway is located on the second floor of the Mascone center and will have various OSX and iOS products and technologies for you to sample and experience.
In this class blog you will write a brief description of the product you sampled. Please include the name, description, specs and why this product or feature was interesting to you. You will be required to turn in a flyer from that booth along with this blog.
Ah MacWorld, my favorite trip of the year. This year’s show was interesting in that there were a lot of apps to demo. I was especially interested in the LARK sleep monitor.
ReplyDeleteThe LARK sleep monitor is a wrist band that you wear while you sleep. It records your sleep patterns and also has a silent vibrate alarm to wake you gently and quietly.
The app provides you with valuable date of your sleep patterns during the night. The cost for the LARK is $99.00. You can also upgrade to the LARK Pro which provides you with a sleep coach that tells you your sleep type and then methods to improve.
Either way, there is nothing like a good night’s sleep and learning how to perfect that sounds good to me!
At MacWorld there were multiple apps showcased; all offering there own blend of fun and productivity. The most unique app showcased at Macworld in my opinion had to be Casio's "DP Animation" app for the iPhone iPad and iPod. The app allows you to take full body snapshots of your friends or family, and then transform that snapshot into a fun animation. The app lets you choose from either full body snapshots, or using one of there templates for face only.
ReplyDeleteAt Macworld this year, there were alot of booths offering various types of protection for your iPad. An interesting protector that caught my attention was the iBallz shock-absorbing solution. It consists of four balls positioned on the corners of the iPad held by a bungee cord. They had a demonstration in which an iPad taking hits in a crystal clear cube which was hooked up to a apparatus which rotated the cube. The iPad seemed to be fined and who knows how many hours it spent in there. It costs $19.95 for the the set. In my opinion i would buy it because of its uniqueness, and because i have butterfingers.
ReplyDeleteMacworld was pretty good for all the objects that they had their for show and you could also buy them if you wanted to. I was interested in the x-mini a small speaker that blast an awesome sound to most of your electronic devices. If you close the speaker into a circle it takes away the bass if you don't want it to play like that while your listening to your music. At macworld it was $25. In the end the money was well worth it, because it plays great and you have no problem with it being to low instead it plays really loud just the way you would want to listen to it.
ReplyDeleteWhat called my attention at Mac World was the U.S.B's that look like toys. You can get them as your favorite character from Marvel like: Spider Man, Iron Man, Hulk, etc. I think there really cool because you can hide important data/information and people will think its just a toy sitting down at your desk. I wouldn't recommend it if children go around your desk because they'll think its a toy.
ReplyDeleteMac World was so amazing. There was so much to see and everything was giving a lot of information out which was very helpful. I really loved the Audioengine W1 Premium Wireless Audio Adapter. The main reason is because it can send wireless audio to any room in the house,and is able to work with Mac or PC(or with out a computer)and its compatible with iPods,iPhones and all other music places desktops computers, laptops, notebook and also TV'S its also compatible with any other products with 1\8" mini-jack or RCA connectors. It comes ready with a Audio Sender so you can be able to connect to all of the devices above and play music anywhere in the house, the foot range is 100 (30) meters with no dropouts or interference.

MacWorld was so much fun there was a lot of cool stuff and it was for sale.There was a couple of booths that had a spinning wheel and gave stuff away.I had went to a booth like that i spun the wheel and won a $40 pair of headphones.The one product that caught my eye was the iBallz it was shock-absorbing for the iPad and tablet.What it did was if you were to drop your iPad or tablet the iBallz would prevent it form braking.Why? Well the iBallz position on each corner of the iPad or tablet to keep it from breaking when you drop it.The iBallz were $20 with various colors to choose from.I would much rather pay $20 for the iBallz instead of $500 for a new iPad.
ReplyDeleteMacWorld was a very fun and exciting trip. There were several booths in which i was interested. I really liked the Ditto flash drives. They ranged from 4GB to 64GB. They also had 4GB of cloud storage so that meant that you would have your stuff saved on the go. They didn't give me a clear price, but i'd definitely be a future buyer of that item.
ReplyDeleteMacWorld was a great place to visit. There were great booths showcasing many interesting products, but the iPro Lens System is what caught my eye. It's basically a huge camera upgrade from the one that's already in your iPhone. It comes with a case that is able to connect to your tripod including the Fisheye Lens; it alters your view to 165 degrees. Lastly, the Wide Angle Lens, a twist on lens that provides a 35% wider field of view, if you’re in a crowded place, you can still capture the picture. I would definitely buy this if I had an iPhone.
ReplyDeleteMacWorld was alright not that great in my opinion. Other people may have enjoyed it more but I didn’t. It wasn’t as I expected it to be.
ReplyDeleteA very useful add on for photographers and novices alike is the 'IPro Lens'. It claims to take professional-grade photos with your Iphone! With DSLR cameras ranging from prices of 500+ a simple solution would be to enhance your iphone. It includes an iphone case, lenses and a handle, it is designed or the iPhone 4 and 4s. MacWorld was an ifans dream!
ReplyDeleteAt Mac World i saw a lot of interesting booths. One product i really liked was the Ditto flash drives. The lowest memory was about 4GB and the highest was 64GB. It also came with 4GB storage on the cloud which means where ever you have internet you can use the storage. They were not on sale yet or else i would already have one.
ReplyDeleteThe Mac world field trip was so fun. Definitely one of the highlights of my senior year. I was really interested in the product Lark. Its a program that monitors your sleep, and can be used to wake you up. It can tell you how many times you woke up, and your average sleep times. Its just amazing to me how much technology has risen. Its just quite amazing to me. I will defiantly be purchasing in the future.
ReplyDeleteMac World was truly a great experience for me. I enjoyed all the booths they had there. The best thing there in my opinion was the Otter Box which is an extremely durable case for your iPhone. I purchased one of these for about $40 and it is extremely worth it. I haven't tried to drop my phone to see if it works but when I do it always does what it is supposed to do which means my phone doesn't break.
ReplyDeleteMacWorld was such a great, rewarding experience witch was very interesting. The product that most interested me was the iGlobe. The iGlobe uses different components to present a high-resolution image wich is very rich in color. The image displays earth as a 3D sphere, without the 3D spectacles. I personally would not purchase the product because $7700 is a lot to pay. The main reason why this intrigued me is how beautiful the display is.
